High Fructose Corn Syrup
I debated on if I wanted to blog about High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) because in the marketing world…any publicity is good publicity. The Corn Refiner’s Association are already spending $30million on a campaign to convince the public that there is nothing wrong with consuming high fructose corn syrup (makes me wonder the last time I saw a commercial on the benefits of eating more fruits for my daily dose of sugar).

There are a lot of arguments from both sides of the fence and it makes you wonder who is right? You hear a lot of these arguments – one camp says that raw milk is nature’s perfect food and another camp says that any dairy is bad for you and the Dairy Association will have you believe that pasteurized dairy is much needed in one’s diet. This can get all very confusing, even for the most savvy of healthy eaters.

Here is how I look at any controversial piece of information: who is to gain by leading a campaign for or against any product?
Nutrition for your Soul (Mind Movies)

Mind Movies....where technology meets vision boards. I have done vision boards in the past and I will probably still do it, but I've rarely kept up with it. I also don't look at it very often and it has travelled from my wall into a closet back up on a wall. But this really speaks to me.

I definitely get pumped up when I see it, and it just stirs something inside of me. Watch my video - it's 2 minutes and 30 secs. I stayed up the entire night putting this together but for me as a solo-preneur it is sometimes hard to keep myself motivated. Here's my answer, and quite possibly yours too.

Here is an interview with the person that thought of this concept.

I'm also going to share mine with you here because who knows who's watching AND this is simply incredible!

By the way, if you want to buy the step-by-step instructions on how to do this go to Mind Movies. And if for some reason something's not working just send me an email.

You are what you eat
Doctors today still follow the Hippocratic Oath - "Do no harm" but they fail to mention and follow other Hippocratic tenets such as
1) The human body can heal itself and can return itself to good health.
2) Eat a moderate amount of food, not too much, no too little.
3) Patients in good spirits will heal faster
4) Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.

Two revolutionary movies have come out that I think should be watched by all to understand that food does matter and you are what you eat.

I do not advocate any one way of eating. I truly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to eating. However, I do believe that clean eating is the key to preventing many chronic diseases and getting on the road to eating healthy.

So if you are serious about your health watch and see the transformation that can occur not only physically but emotionally. Imagine what your life and business could be like if you had a level of happiness that no one could take away. Then contact me and see how we can do that together.
Healthy Eating as an Entrepreneur

One of the reactions I get when I tell people that I am a nutritional consultant is fear. Nine times out of ten people think I'm the food Nazi and nine times out of ten people think I'm perfect. I'm not.

So I thought it would be appropriate if I showed you who are interested in leading a healthier lifestyle that I too struggle with it on a daily basis. I don't believe it when people say it's easy...I have never found it to be so. It is a choice, every time. As a result, there is going to be a section on this blog where I recount my successes and also my mishaps of leading a healthy lifestyle so hopefully it'll give you ideas on what to do or what not to do, what will fit and what won't fit into your lifestyle...

Today was a tough one.

Continue reading "Healthy Eating as an Entrepreneur"

Dietitian/Nutritionist Licensing Act Introduced in NJ

A new legislation was introduced on June 12, 2008 called Dietitian/Nutritionist Licensing Act...well not new -a version of this was vetoed by Governor Whitman.

It now rears its ugly head again. Now maybe I wouldn't be so opposed to an Bill that provided legitimacy if it wasn't so ADA centric. Bills like this have been passed in other states before and the fallout of it was felt for many years later. Do we really want the same fate to happen in NJ? Read on for what happened in Ohio...points are still relevant today.

Continue reading "Dietitian/Nutritionist Licensing Act Introduced in NJ"

The American Dietetic Association...and its associations...
As a holistic health practitioner and having a background in marketing and investments I have the unfortunate (or fortunate) knowledge of knowing that sometimes things just aren't as they appear to be.

The American Dietetic Association - or ADA - which is viewed as the "leading authority" on nutrition by the public...is well...I wonder how influenced by the sponsorships and monies they receive from the food industry.
Continue reading "The American Dietetic Association...and its associations..."
